Lesley, I’ve been following your posts for a few weeks. My oldest daughter is an addict/alcoholic (only 26) and is in her third rehab right now. My heart breaks for you with every post you publish—I know your pain —and I’m like a driver who comes upon the scene of an accident: I have to look, even if the wreckage I view is horrific.
I just want you to know how brave I think you are for writing this blog, and I hope it is a cathartic process for you. When you push “publish” every day, know there are readers out there who have incredible empathy for you.

And my heart goes out to you – my daughter is 38 and my blog so far is just the beginning – she has had 2 x 12 month rehab stints – she has been hospitalised – sectioned – and is now living in sheltered accommodation – heartbreaking – and still I live with some hope – two things that have helped me – hope they are of use to you – counselling – stop repeating old thought patterns ie: my daughter is going to die – second thing – not my fault – not my responsibility, what she does with her life. I have a life too and I want to live it xx hope this helps xx
